Job Description
he Sustainability & Performance Engineer would lead the ESG projects and implement sustainable solutions across the company's fleet. This role would focus on optimizing vessel performance, reducing environmental impact and ensuring compliance with international regulations.
Key responsibilities will be as follows:
1. Performance Optimization
Enhancing fuel consumption is a critical focus area, with numerous possibilities to achieve significant improvements. Fuel monitoring and automatic management are emphasized across the company group, alongside research into advanced technologies such as blades, fans, propellers, and dust solutions, all of which are highly relevant for optimizing performance.
2. Regulatory Compliance
Looking ahead to regulatory changes in 2026, the company is committed to maintaining compliance with international and local environmental standards, such as the MRV in Schengen area, the MARPOL, or the IMO's Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI). Upcoming regulations, including those related to emissions and efficiency indices, must be anticipated, with proactive steps taken to ensure readiness. Compliance with these evolving requirements will safeguard operaitons and ensure alignment with global standards.
3. Sustainability Reporting
Regular sustainability reporting is a crucial part of maintaining transparency and tracking environmental progress. This includes compiling reports on greenhouse gas emissions, energy usage, and other key performance indicators. Working closely with the Communications Team will be essential to effectively share sustainability achievements with key stakeholders, highlighting the organization's commitment to environmental and operational excellence.
4. Recycling Aspect, Strategy
Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve recycling processes, reduce waste and promote sustainable practices across the Company.
5. Project Management
Sustainability & Performance Engineer would be called to manage and lead projects focused on sustainability and performance improvement, from conception through to implementation and evaluation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering
- Preferably with knowledge in fluid mechanics and sustainability
- Perferably worked on the projects with the offshore company on sustainability
- Possess a high level of computer literacy
- Be a good communicator and team player
- Ability to perform ad-hoc tasks without supervision
