Responsibilities:
- Establishes proposed Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and qualification, preparation of new Procedure Qualifying Records (PQR) for projects through third-party certification and client specification
- Qualifies welders for projects and supervises, monitoring their performance to maintain a lower defect rate
- Resolves welding issues through discussions with clients and the respective Project Management Team
- Coordinates external laboratory for testing and witnessing purpose
- Provides weld sequences for critical weld joints for fabrication items
- Consolidates and compiles welding defect rate
- Takes necessary actions to ensure welding defect rate meets KPI
- Assists in the bidding process by reviewing vendor and tender documents including submission of technical documents
Requirements:
- Degree in Welding/ Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering
- Must be certified International Welding Engineer (IWE)
- Preferably 3-5 years of relevant experience in Marine, Oil, and Gas
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Expert Knowledge in Metallurgy and Welding
- Knowledge on International Welding Code and Specification like AWS D1,1, ASME IX,BS, API 1104 etc.
- Able to work on-sites (workshop, onboard, local sites, anchorage, voyage, and overseas)
- Able to prepare Quality Assurance Plans and Procedures, Quality Management System, and Quality System Audits
- Good in planning, organising, interpersonal skills and able to work independently
- May require working beyond regular work hours
Salary depends on experience
