The DBA shall minimally perform the following administration activities for database server and automate them to the extent possible:
- Manage and monitor the database storage, database space utilisation, table extents and growth, and alert or report to the Customer on potential performance or capacity issues, or bottlenecks with recommendations;
- Setup and manage the users accounts, access rights, privileges, roles and profiles;
- Plan and perform database backup and recovery;
- Review all daily logs, database alerts, database export logs and scheduled job logs;
- Plan and schedule regular database housekeeping and maintenance activities necessary to keep the database in a healthy state and at optimal performance;
- Manage scripts and database object deployment;
- Review, propose and carry out database reorganisation, upgrades or necessary to meet target system throughput and performance;
- Perform fault and performance monitoring;
- Respond to monitoring alerts and perform first-level troubleshooting when required;
- Perform database patch management;
- Work with Customer and Customer-appointed Supplier in identifying database related issues;
- Document and maintain database server administration guides and SOPs; and
- Perform annual database disaster recovery test on selected databases as determined by the Customer.
- Conduct a backup and restore exercise to validate that the database which are backed up more than six (6) months ago can be restored. This restoration exercise shall be conducted once every year on samples and at a time determined by the Customer.
The Database Administrator shall minimally possess the following requirement:
- At least three (5) years of experience in MS SQL administration; and
- Microsoft Certified Solution Associate: SQL Database Administration
- At least three (3) years of experience in Oracle Database administration; and
- At least 3 years exposure to Azure and AWS RDS databases
- Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional.
