RESPONSIBILITIES
About the Job
The Assistant Manager will play a key role in building and nurturing relationships within the Peacehaven community outreach especially in our Active Aging Centre (AAC). This position focuses on developing and implementing community programs, facilitating engagement initiatives, and fostering partnerships with local organizations, government entities to promote sustainable development and community well-being in engaging our seniors in the community.
Job Description
- Program Development: Design, implement, and evaluate community development programs that address the needs of diverse community members.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate workshops, meetings, and events to engage residents, gather feedback, and encourage participation in community initiatives.
- Partnership Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to support community projects and initiatives.
- Advocacy: Advocate for the needs and interests of the community by representing Peacehaven in local forums and meetings.
- Volunteer Management: Manage the team in volunteer management to enable outreach programs to be executed smoothly
- Resource Management: Identify funding opportunities, prepare grant applications, and manage budgets for community programs.
- Team Management: Manage a team to engage the community and drive attainment of KPIs required by our key stakeholders.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on community needs and program outcomes, preparing reports to share with stakeholders and guide future initiatives.
- Communication: Develop and disseminate promotional materials, newsletters, and social media content to keep the community informed and engaged.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Community Development, Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field preferred
Job Requirements
- Proven experience in community development, social services, or a similar role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse populations.
- Experience in program management and evaluation.
- Knowledge of community resources, local government structures, and funding opportunities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with community engagement platforms.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and team management skills

Working Hours
Under normal circumstances the hours of duty will be as follows:
8.30am to 5.45pm (Monday to Friday)
