Job Description


Perform a variety of research activities which include planning, organizing, and conducting research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (http://www.digitalmedicinelab.org/):


  • Apply statistics, machine learning, and deep learning to analyse various types of clinical data such as large-scale electronic health records, bio-signals, and/or medical images (MRI, CT, X-ray).
  • Conceptualise new ideas and develop plans for independent research which could have a considerable influence and impact in medical informatics and health data science.
  • Write high-quality technical/methodological research papers, present research outcomes and develop connections with local and international researchers for collaboration work.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers and graduate students, and get involved in occasional educational/instructional activities.
  • Perform other academic duties as required by the Principal Investigator.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Statistics / Biostatistics / Computing / Engineering / Epidemiology with good mathematical knowledge and extensive research experience in machine learning and statistics.
  • Proven record of publications in reputable journals and/or good machine learning and data science conferences.
  • Possess good programming skills in R and Python.
  • Have interests in applying statistics and machine learning to solve real-world medical problems.
  • Willing to conduct independent research as well as support team research activities.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
