RESPONSIBILITIES
- Integrated Communications and Marketng
- Develop strategies for the development and implementation of an integrated communications plan to engage SMU alumni, students, and colleagues in Schools, Offices, Colleges and Institutes in alumni engagement.
- Innovate and create original, platform/channel-specific marketing and publicity content for the various communication touchpoints to engage the targeted alumni communities including but not limited to digital and non-digital platforms.
- Develop the creatives of various publications and collaterals and oversee the quality of these creatives in production and utilisation.
- Plan, organise and deliver the communications and marketing support for day-to-day activities, events, and initiatives.
- Monitor, adapt and adopt digital engagement trends and best practices in communications.
- Organise info-sessions and manage outreach booths at Cap/Gown and Commencement.
- Liaise with the Office of Corporate Communications and Marketing to ensure alignment with the University's brand, marketing and communication strategies and policies for media requests, press releases, university-level or alumni events.
- Support the Office of Alumni Relations to plan, coordinate and execute upon comms efforts including signature events such as Homecoming, Alumni Awards and Patron's Day..
- Manage the recruitment, training, performance and of student ambassadors for events.
- Lead, train and develop a team of staff members, define roles and delegate duties.
- Provide support for ad hoc projects for Director and/or Office/University as deemed necessary.
- Building Institutional Knowledge of our Alumni
- Continually improve SMU's knowledge of our alumni and their needs by gathering information on their participation in online activities, interaction, and usage trends.
- Manage and maintain the updated records and media archives of alumni information.
- Lead the team to analyse data, derive insights, and propose recommendations on improving digital alumni activities and events.
- Identify key metrics and develop measurement reports to evaluate the success of digital and non-digital alumni engagement efforts.
- When required, conduct surveys to identify the diverse needs of alumni and improve programme offerings.
- Measure the success of events and programmes.
- Bachelor or Master Degree with at least 10 years of working experience, preferably in higher education sector and relationship management with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Able to manage a team under tight deadlines, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of motivation and energy.
- Able to think strategically and develop plans; and implement these plans to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Proven track record in the higher education sector for planning, executing and improving community interaction and building. Knowledge of alumni relations will be an advantage.
- Detail-oriented with strong project management, good administration and organisational skills.
- Effectively bilingual with excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Mature and able to build and maintain relationships with alumni, industry partners and stakeholders.
- Proficient at using social media, database, web analytics tools to run online marketing/community engagement campaigns.
- Proficient in the adoption of tech solutions to improve workflow and productivity.
- Experienced in working with stakeholders in the design and development, UX/UI testing, roll out and maintenance of data/content management systems (CMS).
- Web writing/development, graphic design, photography and or video production skills would be advantageous.
- A dynamic team player with an innovative mindset and a positive outlook.
