Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer / Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in creating both technical and functional documentation, with a deep understanding of software development and enterprise systems. In this role, you will work closely with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to produce high-quality documentation that clarifies complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. You will also contribute to business analysis tasks by gathering requirements and supporting the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Documentation Creation:
- Develop comprehensive technical and functional documentation, including user guides, system manuals, API documentation, process flows, and training materials.
- Work with software developers and product managers to understand system functionality and produce clear, concise documentation for various audiences.
- Translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation repositories using tools like Confluence, Jira, and Excel, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and version controlled.
- Business Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
- Assist in translating business requirements into technical specifications that developers can implement.
- Ensure alignment between technical solutions and business needs by reviewing project deliverables and providing feedback.
- Project Support:
- Participate in project planning, helping to define scope, objectives, and timelines for documentation deliverables.
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, ensuring that deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and end-users to gather feedback and continuously improve documentation and project processes.
- SDLC and Agile Familiarity:
- Work within the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and contribute to Agile project teams, ensuring that documentation is created and maintained in an iterative, collaborative process.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and reviews to stay informed on development progress and adapt documentation as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Writer, Business Analyst, or in a related role.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to grasp and communicate complex technical concepts clearly for diverse audiences, including developers, project managers, and end-users.
- Proficiency with documentation tools like Confluence, Jira, and Excel, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of software systems, APIs, databases, and enterprise architectures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proven ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously, working within tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with software development teams and project management tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of APIs, databases, and enterprise systems architecture.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced, Agile development environment.
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field.
