DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and Project Director. Junior Cost Controller supports the cost control functions of the project by assisting in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates during the bidding phase. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will be responsible for assisting in monitoring and controlling costs, ensuring that all costs are accurately tracked and reported.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the preparation the project budget and capital cost estimates.
- Help set up standard project account codes and establishment of Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), CBS and CTR Catalogue.
- Assist in transferring the project ‘as-sold’ budget information into a Project Cost Model (split according to the Breakdown Structure – WBS and time-phased).
- Coordinate with the other project functions to ensure compatibility with the Cost Control requirements and timely flow of information.
- Support the setup the systems and process that will allow a smooth gathering and compilation of commitment and cost information during project execution.
- Help produce regular cost reports and advising management of any forecast cost overruns as soon as possible to allow corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner.
- Assist in Review cost commitment and expenditure information for all cost elements and ensuring that all information received is accurate and correctly recorded.
- Maintain close monitoring of project activities in line with contractual conditions.
- Involvement in Change Management Process Variation Order costing, pricing, and submission.
- Participate in Risk Management Process and manage the project contingency and sensitivity analysis.
- Review invoicing and monitoring payment received from client.
- Responsible for preparation of monthly cash flow statements, monitoring and forecasting cash flows, setting control environment for the cash management in order to optimise cash flow.
- Verify and validate all claims/ supplier / subcontractor / service provider invoices billed to the project.
- Preparation and monitoring of manpower manning plan of the project, manpower earned value analysis and resources in relation to the original schedule requirement.
- Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.
- Established and maintain good working relationship with both internal and external clients to guide on cost controlling matters.
- Fiscal responsibilities include planning, preparation, forecasting, maintaining and reconciling for budgets and expenses and planning, forecasting, maintaining and reconciling in the area of purchasing.

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/finance/accounting preferred.
- Minimum 0-2 years of experience in similar capacity with expertise in cost management.
- Computer literate in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP System.
- Good communication, organising and interpersonal skills are critical.
- Positive attitude / Drive for result.
- Good sense of numerical projection, estimation and experienced in generating financial reports.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
