Established US Data Centre with multi-sites operation in Singapore.
They are hiring a Senior System Engineer to be part of a newly created APAC IT team
Overview: part of the ITE Systems Operations to maintain and monitor systems including cloud services
- Maintain policies, procedures and deployment of system server and cloud architecture.
- Ensure system changes with minimal downtime.
- Tests the procedures for backup and failover.
- Executes life cycle management by timely upgrading and patching of system components.
- Manage restricted access to systems with appropriate identity management solutions and implementations.
- Work with our vendors to report and replace broken hardware components.
- Monitors the availability of the systems - capacity and performance
- Ensure IT-compliance within the area of systems:
- Ensure system meet the IT-security targets, applicable compliance frameworks and specific customer requirements.
- Support audits-process
- Identify and recommend tool to improve cost – installation, configuration, maintenance and monitoring systems and cloud services
- Follow up on incidents within SLA lead time
Contributes to business projects, infrastructure projects, audits, etc. to provide system management expertise. - Provides out of office hours system management support where needed.
Requirement
- Degree in IT with minimum 8 years of working experience in a MNC setup environment
- Experience with system (IT infrastructure), Server base and Cloud network
- Microsoft Certification and VMWare Virtual Certified Professional (VCP) (preferred)
- Experience in working in a multi-vendor environment
- Willing to participate in after hours on call duty on a rotation schedule basis.
- Able to travel across sites located in locally
- Sound knowledge of
- Microsoft systems and system management
- Storage technologies (SAN)
- - Virtual machines (e.g. VMware)
- - Integration technologies.
- - Cloud services (both IaaS, PaaS & SaaS)
- Strong problem-solving skills, independent, proactive and attention todetails
