Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled M365 Messaging Systems Support Engineer responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance of on-premises and/or Microsoft 365 (M365) messaging systems such as MS Exchange, Teams, Lync, Skype, and SharePoint. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth operations, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of these systems in line with the project service scope and service level agreements (SLAs). They will also handle service requests, escalations, and perform basic system administration tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support:
Provide technical support for escalations and cases related to messaging systems, ensuring accurate documentation of the issue and its resolution.
Offer troubleshooting and technical support via phone, email, and web-based tools.
Operations & Monitoring:
Track and monitor the progress of all requests and ensure timely completion.
Perform daily operational tasks, including monitoring system availability and utilization.
Respond to system health alerts generated by monitoring systems.
System Administration:
Conduct basic system administration tasks, including processing standard service requests related to the messaging system.
Perform messaging log tracking and troubleshooting.
System Patching & Maintenance:
Support system patching and server reboot activities based on established work instructions.
Carry out post-preventive maintenance system health checks following OS patching or application updates.
Preventive Maintenance:
Assist in regular preventive maintenance routines to ensure optimal system performance and prevent downtime.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other IT team members to ensure effective resolution of issues and smooth operation of messaging systems.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
3+ years of experience in messaging systems administration, troubleshooting, and support, particularly with Microsoft Exchange, Teams, Lync, Skype, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of on-premises and M365 messaging systems.
- Experience with monitoring tools and troubleshooting messaging logs.
- Familiarity with system patching, server reboots, and preventive maintenance processes.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills for troubleshooting and support over phone, web tools, and email.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Certifications (Preferred):
Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or equivalent.
