Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop repair processes for Component Repairs for Rolls-Royce Trent Engine Components.
Lead and assist in development of required tooling for respective repairs and inspection requirement, creation of manufacturing routers and process instructions (data cards, recording forms, Setup plans, etc.) - Lead in demonstration of First article for assigned repair schemes per AS9102, AS 130000 and Rolls-Royce's SARRe Guideline for suppliers.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineers and Specialist from Customer team to achieve assigned monthly targets of repair development of Repairs.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers in resolution of technical and operational challenges or concerns raised to Rolls-Royce and ensure follow through till approval is obtained and repair is handed over to shop operations.
- Assisting all steps involved in Source Approval validation packages for Rolls-Royce Source Control Repair schemes and other documentation required for industrialization and approval.
- Assisting effectively interfaces with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Suppliers and other support teams during repair industrialization into the Shop and ensure that it meets Safety, Quality, Delivery and Productivity objectives within schedule and budget.
- Interface with vendors and internal functions in an effective manner to ensure that the action items to be carried out for the repair development are executed on time and in budget.
- Assure that all engineering designs and technical data are completed and accurately documented to provide an accurate technical/historical base for future reference and to meet customer/end user requirements.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical/Material or other relevant Engineering discipline with Min. 5 years of repair development or repair design experiences.
Technical Expertise
- Well versed in Rolls-Royce Repair Schemes designs, application of engine manuals and Cleaning and inspection chapter, Special Process Manuals and Overhaul process.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Rolls-Royce Component Repair processes.
- Good understanding of manufacturing and inspection tools and processes used in the repair industry, such as heat treat, thermal spray, glass bead & shot peening, arc welding, Wide Gap brazing, machining, etc.
- Knowledge of GD&T, tool/fixture design and applications in repair.
- Good to have expertise in Nozzle Guide Vanes and Stator Vanes repair.
The performance of the onsite engineer will be evaluated based on:
- Timeliness and quality of repair schemes developed
- Feedback from team members and stakeholders
- Compliance with regulatory and internal quality standards
