Role Overview:
You will play a critical role in driving excellence in accounting operations, quality management, process improvement, and team building. You will lead established teams in portfolio and client-based accounting, overseeing both our local team in Singapore and managing the portfolio allocation to outsourced teams across the region. With a strong focus on compliance, you will ensure timely and accurate reporting, meeting regulatory deadlines set by ACRA and IRAS.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide established teams in portfolio and client-based accounting, inspiring them to deliver high-quality work and exceptional client service.
- Implement structured processes and best practices to enhance quality management, optimize workflows, and ensure consistent delivery of top-notch services.
- Maintain a client-centric focus, promptly addressing client inquiries and concerns, and delivering comprehensive solutions that exceed expectations.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, building strong bonds not only within the accounting team but also with managers from other departments, such as corporate secretarial, tax, and payroll.
- Drive process optimization and efficiency within the accounting department, identifying opportunities for growth and higher efficiencies.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience in handling MAS reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant guidelines.
- Conduct trainings for the local and outsourcing teams on new accounting standards and provide guidance in areas where the team requires support and development.
- Actively seek feedback from local accounting teams and monitor the quality of work produced by the outsourced teams in the region. Oversee the improvements and ensure that strict standards are adhered to from the regional outsourcing team.
Qualifications:
- Possess a recognized degree in accounting or hold an equivalent professional qualification like ACCA.
- Demonstrated expertise in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and a strong understanding of relevant accounting regulations.
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in managing accounting teams within an accounting/outsourcing firm, with an audit background preferred.
- Proven track record in effectively handling quality management, process enhancement, and team leadership.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward outstanding results.
- Capable of handling consolidations and technical topics on SFRS and IFRS.
- Proven ability to navigate and resolve complex audit issues with external auditors, ensuring compliance and maintaining the highest standard of service.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and clients.
- A team player with meticulous attention to detail and a history of consistently meeting deadlines.
- Highly self-motivated, able to work autonomously with minimal supervision, even under pressure.
- Familiarity with Variable Capital Company (VCC) and experience in handling fund-based accounting are advantageous.
