We’re looking to add a Senior Engineer, Mechanical (R&D) in Singapore. The position is based in our HQ at Ang Mo Kio.
As a Senior Engineer, Mechanical (R&D), you will:
- Engage in both conceptual and detailed design of mechanical parts and modules, electro-mechanical subsystems, transmission systems and fluidics / pneumatics mechanisms.
- Perform technical analysis (e.g. structural, thermal management, fluidics, FMEA and Design for Manufacturing) to validate and optimise design to ensure designs meet specifications, project timeline and cost objectives.
- Have opportunities to participate in technical discussions and present design solutions to clients.
- Coordinate the fabrication, assembly, and validation of prototypes to ensure they meet specifications.
- Author specifications, requirements, and validation plans for assigned design modules.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams and part suppliers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support reasonable accommodation of additional duties as assigned by the company.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in CAD tools such as SolidWorks.
- Good knowledge and experience in product design, designing of robust electro-mechanical systems.
- Experience in designing for plastic molding, sheetmetal stamping, machining and extrusion.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Tolerance Stack-up Analysis.
- Proficiency in simulation tools, mechanical FEA and programming skills (e.g., Python) would be an added advantage
- Experience in lab automation equipment, such as motion control, fluidic pumps, and valves or packaging design is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical product compliance standards such as ISO13485 would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Self-driven team player who is able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability for occasional overseas travel.
