Procurement Specialist (Contract)
You will be responsible for the procurement of spares/parts, supplies and services for the maintenance and operation of the power plant and its facilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with plant engineers and personnel from the maintenance / operations / facilities teams on the requirements of the materials / services based on stipulated technical specifications and scope of work descriptions.
- Perform sourcing activities from both local and overseas vendors.
- Prepare and send out RFQs to the relevant suppliers/vendors and monitor their submissions.
- Conduct supplier evaluation and manage selection processes to ensure submissions are in line with the technical and commercial specifications.
- Expedite the delivery of the order and communicate with the internal stakeholders for any changes to the order as needed.
- Resolve supply, quality, and service invoicing issues with vendors and ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliance in all the procurement transactions.
- Undertake procurement continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Control & Instrumentation or equivalent.
- Technical procurement experience in a similar environment will be advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge and evaluation writing skills.
- Excellent planning, organising, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite especially Excel. SAP experience will be a plus.
- Resilient, self-driven and independent team player with the good ability to work multi-task and meet deadlines.
