Job Description
This role is responsible for participating in strategic sourcing and routine purchasing activities to obtain the materials, equipment, and services to deliver for new projects and production demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing management goals of assigned commodity and implement action items to ensure that those goals are achieved
- Develop and implement commodity strategies, including sourcing and supplier selection domestically and internationally
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models
- Responsible for negotiations for best possible cost service guarantee and develop “win-win” strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
- Drive Cost Reduction thru commercial and technical lever
- Implement supplier agreements/contracts when beneficial by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
- Analyse industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues to minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships to meet company goals
- Manage and collaborate New Product Realization (NPR) Project with R&D in cost optimization and vendor selection
- Follow the workplace safety and health system, safe work procedures or safety rules implemented at the workplace.
Experience
- At least 3 years strategic sourcing/ purchasing experience along with relevant operations/supply chain experience
- Strong preference for some international sourcing experience
- Experienced in Sheetmetal ~ Stamping, pressing, laser, turret, NC bending. Precision Machining ~ turned parts, lathe, milling. Surface finishes ~ painted, plating, heat treatments
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings/ specifications
- Knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts
- BOM Cost Management and Part/Product Costing analysis
- Ability to manage multiple projects and establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful implementation of commodity strategies.
- Ability to analyse and make sense out of data /dashboard
- Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of ERP systems, MS Office, with advanced Excel knowledge
Qualifications
- Min diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Supply Chain Management

- Ability to work independently and a good team player
- Availability to travel oversea as needed
