We are looking for a seasoned Project Director with good leadership skills for a well-established organization based in Singapore. This role is responsible for spearheading a team of project managers and providing strategic oversight across various development initiatives, particularly in infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate would have proven track record in leading a team of professionals to manage new civil infrastructure development, the upgrading and retrofitting of existing assets, and specialized projects across areas such as infrastructure, warehouses, storage facilities, and integrated civil and equipment structures.

Key Requirements:

  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in project development or management, particularly in industrial buildings and infrastructure within Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of projects through the complete project lifecycle, from concept to handover.
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to project management teams, ensuring alignment with the company’s development goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution within the project teams on matters related to design, budget, and timelines, ensuring that projects continue to progress efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to shape and define project designs, ensuring they meet strategic business goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Lead the coordination with multi-disciplinary consultants and engage with local authorities for project approvals. Oversee tender processes, contract negotiations, and administration.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with corporate standards and local regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identifying potential challenges and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Manage financial oversight of project budgets, ensuring proper allocation of resources and adherence to financial objectives.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management, highlighting progress, milestones, challenges, and resolutions.
  • Implement quality control systems to ensure projects meet company standards and industry best practices.
  • Prioritize sustainability and environmental responsibility throughout all phases of project execution.
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to, fostering a culture of safety within the team.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, collaborating effectively with senior leadership, project consultants, and other key stakeholders.
  • Promote a high-performance culture within the project management team, driving collaboration and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical), Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in managing large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects, primarily in Singapore and the Asia Pacific.
  • Experience in leading a full-cycle development project as a Project Director.
  • A strong project management background, particularly with developers, is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in managing project timelines, budgets, and quality assurance processes.
  • A deep commitment to sustainable practices and high safety standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex projects and manage diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to adapt to different working environments.
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations and contract management processes (e.g., PSSCOC) is advantageous.
