- Carriers Management
- Sea Freight Procurement: Negotiating buying rates to ensure business profitability.
- Optimizing profitability by developing yield improvement solutions.
- Establishing pricing and procurement guidelines in alignment with headquarters.
- Collaborating closely with the sea freight operations team to define and formalize booking instructions (Routing, Carrier, Schedule) according to customer constraints and yield management.
- Performing cross-functional collaboration (Business Units, internal customers, and pricing) to gather required information, including transport mode, price, and transit time, and providing solutions to operations.
- Monitoring price movements and seasonal fluctuations, conducting market analysis.
- Designing solutions for new products/lines by developing product strategies.
- Responsible for expanding service contracts and ensuring volume commitments are met.
- Taking ownership of FCL and LCL procurement practices in the Singapore office.
- Focus on growth of the FCL and LCL businesses
- Handling ad hoc tasks as assigned.
- Reporting to the Director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree requirement with min. 5years of Sea freight experience
- Preferable experience in a fast paced and dynamic multi-cultural MNC environment. In Shipping Line, Freight-forwarding or Logistics industry is essential
- Understanding of margin (yield) management
- Good relations with carriers
- Resourceful, result oriented and able to work under pressure
- Excellent organizational skills
- Good inter-personal skills, able to communicate precisely and effectively
- Motivated, highly initiative, driven and result-oriented
- Able to work well in a team as well as independently
- Meticulous, analytical, and able to multi-task in a fast-moving environment
- Intermediate Access skill preferred
- Good Command of written and spoken English
