Job Scope
- Assist the Fleet vessels with day-to-day maintenance management of electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic or electro-pneumatic/ automation systems.
- Reviewing the fleet planned maintenance schedule of electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic or electro-pneumatic/ automation systems / power generation / backup power source / fire detection system and submit to technical manager.
- Assist to guide onboard engineers on the task which require electrical engineers’ competencies so that they could operate and maintain electrical/electronic/electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/automation systems efficiently.
- Willingness to attend & assist fleet vessels to manage electrical / electronic / electro-hydraulic/electro-pneumatic/ automation equipment failures and carry out fault diagnosis with the aim to resolve the issue.
- Advise the Technical Superintendent for the need of shore assistance or need to procure spares in case defects of equipment failures which cannot be resolved thru onboard attendance.
- Carry out on board attendance in liaison with the Technical Superintendents.
- Provide weekly work done report and submit to technical manager on the fleet vessels attended.
- Identify areas for improvements and modifications on electro/automation system and make methodical recommendations for efficient operation of the vessel.
- Contribute to improved learning and efficient experience transfer by working across the fleets.
- Advise Technical Superintendent for matters related to defects input & electrical repair specification for dry docking planning.
- Assist to provide input to Technical Superintendent for incident investigations on electrical matters.
- Actively participate and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures.

Requirements
- Experience working onboard sea going vessels as ETO (Electrical-Technical Officers) in compliance to STCW Standard of competencies for a minimum period of 2 years.
- Added advantage with strong background in oil, gas or chemical tankers or offshore support vessels.
- Added advantage with good academic qualification in tertiary education in Electrical, electronic, or electrical engineering technology.
- Possess good knowledge of electrical power distribution, maintenance, and practical hands-on skill.
- Proficient in troubleshooting & fault diagnosis skills related to electrical, instrumentation, automation & control and including air conditioning and ventilation system.
- Familiar with regulatory and legislative shipping industry environment.
- A team player and collaborate well with office technical team as well as shipboard team.
- Able to communicate well and Fluency in English in both written and spoken.
- Minimum be able to use Outlook for email communication, MS Words for report writing and basic use of Excel spreadsheet.
