THE SEARCH: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & CORPORATE SERVICES

We are looking for an experienced Finance professional who can oversee and guide our portfolio of fast-growing client companies, provide strategic leadership to a finance and corporate secretary professional team, and build on a stellar brand reputation where referrals fuel growth. The ideal candidate must possess a passion for process structure and a keen eye for detail. Reporting directly to the CEO, this candidate will lead an existing team, and this role will demand a solutions-oriented individual looking for an opportunity to grow professionally and play an instrumental role in developing a business. In addition to day-to-day account support to a select group of clients and management of the team, this individual will be responsible for securing new business through our existing referral base and helping to set the strategic direction for the business in the long term.

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader who can work to mentor and grow their team and assist with business operations and growth. They must genuinely enjoy being in a service provider and valued advisor to key clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, monitor and update financial systems and controls
  • Manage key client relationships and serve as both a player and coach to the internal finance team
  • Own the business development lifecycle; lead meetings, quote new customers, and close business
  • Advise and assist with cashflow management planning for client partners
  • Refine, oversee, and manage new client onboarding
  • Ensure client service delivery is running smoothly
  • Financial oversight and mentoring for founders and business leaders across clients
  • A keen understanding of IFRS and Singapore tax regulations and business structuring
  • Work with our strategic partner to plan, contribute to and oversee the vertical's web-based marketing objectives
  • Map out and execute new business (or service) opportunities
  • Relationship management with strategic partners
  • Maintain budgets / achieve financial targets

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Accountable and adopts a ‘business-owner’ mentality
  • Enjoys business development and is KPI-driven
  • Has excellent communication skills and can engage with a diversity of people
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a proven track record of sound financial ‘housekeeping’
  • Is a strategic thinker who wants to support the growth and help set the direction of the business
  • Excellent team leader who builds culture and morale amongst the team
  • Highly process and solutions-oriented
  • Interest or experience in Family office advisory, fund accounting, venture capital, and/or start-up companies
  • Excel in a busy working environment

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis, cash flow planning and forecasting
  • Degree in Accountancy or a related field
  • ACCA or equivalent qualifications
  • Identify initiatives to help clients improve their financial and operational processes in areas such as chart of accounts, financial closing and consolidation
  • Solid knowledge of corporate law
  • At least eight years of working experience in an accounting firm or in-house finance role
  • Proven track record of leadership and growth of a business or business unit
  • Demonstrated record of successfully leading a high-performing team
