Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Make frequent rounds and attend to residents’ needs. Ensure the safety, comfort and well-being of the residents and report residents’ needs to the nurse
- Assist in ensuring the comfort and good personal hygiene of the residents under his/ her care, and keeping them clean, e.g. oral toilet, showering and grooming, trimming of nails, changing of diapers, changing of clothes and bed sheets
- Assist in serving meals and oral feeding of resident without swallowing disorders
- Assist nursing care staff in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents
- Assist and participate in residents’ recreational, occupational, social and therapy programmes
- Assist nurses to ensure residents take their medicines
- Accompany residents to specialist outpatient clinic for follow-up appointments and outing trips
- Assist in last offices
Quality
- Maintain a safe and clean environment, e.g. cleaning and mopping of spillage or discharges, cleaning of residents’ bed and bedside locker, making of beds
- Participate in staff development programmes
- Is responsible to be familiar with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and all emergency protocols
Administration
- Maintain accurate documentation of care rendered and confidentiality of residents’ information
