Job Title: Sustainability Engineer
Job Description:
The Sustainability Engineer will lead energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, with a focus on Green Mark 2021 certification standards. This role is critical in supporting full Green Mark certification processes, conducting comprehensive energy audits, and ensuring that buildings meet and exceed the latest sustainability standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Green Mark 2021 Certification Leadership, Lead energy sustainability initiatives in compliance with Green Mark 2021 standards. Ensure that both new and existing buildings meet the rigorous requirements for full Green Mark certification.
Green Mark Project Management, Manage Green Mark projects, ensuring that all energy and sustainability targets are achieved. Guide projects through the certification process from initiation to final handover.
Bidding Support: Assist the Sales team by conducting in-depth analyses of potential opportunities, focusing on projects that align with Green Mark 2021 standards. Provide insights on energy efficiency and sustainability to help secure client buy-in.
Site Measurements & Audits: Lead and execute on-site energy audits with a focus on Green Mark criteria. Perform energy performance measurements and ensure compliance with Green Mark standards across systems, including HVAC, water flow, energy consumption, and thermal comfort.
Sustainability Design & Analysis: Develop sustainable design solutions that optimize energy performance, ensuring alignment with Green Mark benchmarks. Provide detailed technical reports and energy-saving proposals to internal teams and clients.
Project Coordination: Oversee on-site sustainability audits and retrofitting works, ensuring all activities comply with Green Mark 2021 standards. Collaborate closely with suppliers, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality execution.
Documentation & Handover:Prepare comprehensive documentation for Green Mark 2021 certification, ensuring a seamless transition and project handover. Collaborate on Green Mark submissions and support teams in achieving full compliance.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or Environmental Engineering, with a specialization in energy sustainability and green building standards.
- 2-5 years of experience in energy sustainability and Green Mark project management, with a proven track record of completing at least three full-cycle Green Mark certification projects under the 2021 standard.
- Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) is required. Additional certifications such as Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) and BCA Energy Auditor are advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of Green Mark 2021 full certification standards is essential. Experience in conducting energy audits and implementing energy conservation measures for Green Mark projects.
- Proficient in sustainable HVAC system management, energy efficiency methodologies, and energy auditing.
- Familiar with relevant instruments such as power meters, temperature and pressure sensors, and flow meters.
- Proficient in energy performance analysis and project documentation for Green Mark certification. Strong command of MS Office, particularly MS Excel.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical sustainability concepts and Green Mark requirements to clients and stakeholders. Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate about driving sustainability in the built environment. Thrives in a collaborative, client-facing role focused on Green Mark certification success.
