The role
Rystad Energy is seeking a proven Business Development Manager with strong track record of subscription sales to drive sales and business development as well as retain and grow our client accounts in Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on Singapore-based accounts. The Business Development Manager will report to Head of Commercial, Southeast Asia.
Key responsibilities
- Sell Rystad Energy’s research solutions to companies/organizations within the Energy (E&P Companies, Renewables & Power Players, Utilities), Financials, and Government segments in Southeast Asia, with a strong focus on Singapore.
- Develop and execute product-driven and segment-focused client acquisition strategy
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to meet sales targets
- Engage with, present & pitch to prospective clients (“prospects”) daily, while adopting a consultative and solution-oriented approach in order to win new business
- Work closely with internal cross-functional teams – Marketing, Product, Research, Client Services – to drive engagement with prospects and close deals
- On successfully bringing in new clients, manage the client accounts to ensure renewal of services as well as growth through upselling/cross-selling of offerings
- Strategically and tactically manage and grow Rystad Energy’s portfolio of client accounts across South-East Asia to achieve maximum retention and growth
- Constantly promote the Rystad Energy brand and values externally in all interactions with prospects and clients
What you will need to succeed
- Candidate must be able to work in Singapore – existing Employment Pass holder; Permanent Resident; Citizen
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
- Between 5 to 10 years of B2B Sales/Business Development experience within the Energy industry (Oil & Gas or Renewables) and/or within the Financial Services segments
- Specifically, experience selling business or market intelligence services within the Energy industry (Oil & Gas or Renewables) and/or the Financial Services segments
- Proven track record of surpassing sales revenue targets through a combination of new business development and existing account management
- Solid network of relationships across Southeast Asia within the Energy industry (Oil & Gas or Renewables) and/or within the Financial Services segments that can be leveraged for new business generation
- Ability to engage with individuals across all levels within target organizations, including Senior Management/C-Suite
- Experience in internal stakeholder management – i.e. collaboration with cross-functional teams internally to drive prospect/client engagement externally
- Ability to speak a second language that can be leveraged for the Southeast Asian markets will be a distinct advantage
