Junior Quantity Surveyor

Summary:


The Junior Quantity Surveyor shall assist project team and work closely with Project Managers, Business Development and Director to prepare cost estimates, tracking project expenses, preparing reports, and supporting the tendering and contract management processes. This role may assist in processing payments, and liaising with contractors and suppliers and provides for a strong foundation contract administration, and project management in the construction industry.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Tender and Procurement

  • Preparation of price breakdown/Bills of Quantities & Schedule of Rates
  • Preparation of tender documents and administration
  • Request for Quotations for pricing
  • Preparation of Risk Assessment and Cashflow
  • Compilation of documents for tender submission

2. Project Contract and Procurement Administration

  • Update Risk Assessment and Cashflow
  • Preparation of Costing Sheet, Requisition Form and Approval form for
  • Suppliers and subcontractors (CAPEX & OPEX)
  • Timely submission of monthly progress claims to Client/Main Contractor
  • Process payment response to Subcontractors
  • Tracking of variation costs (CAPEX & OPEX)

Requirements

  • Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management or related fields
  • Preferably 3 to 5 years experience in construction industry
  • Technical Knowledge - understand building and construction technologies for
  • MEP and Fitout works. To be able to read and interpret drawings
  • Software - Proficiency in Microsoft office suite - Excel, Words, Powerpoint
  • Communication and Negotiations - Excellent communication and negotiation
  • skills preferred. To be able to build effective working relationships with internal
  • teams and external vendors
  • Problem-solving - strong aptitude for problem solving that arise during
  • construction projects
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment
