ROLES AND RESPONSIBIILITIES:
1. Youth Ministry (70 to 80% of time)
Lead, oversee and supervise Charis Xciting Saints (XS 17 - 22 years old) and (JXS 13 - 16 years old)
1.1 XS Youth Ministry
a. Provide leadership, vision and direction for the XS youth ministry people and programmes.
b. Provide pastoral care and discipling of youths, as well as care for pre/new believer youths of XS age range.
c. Oversee the direction and function of the XS core team.
d. Disciple and train leaders, mentoring and empowering them to serve with calling and giftings. (Through monthly Ministry Community and leaders’ retreat among others)
e. Oversee Youth Programs such as Home Cells, Combined Cell sessions, Youth Camps and other youth events.
f. Work with adult volunteers and parents in youth work.
g. Manage youths transition from XS and assimilation to Young Adults Ministry
1.2 JXS Youth Ministry
a. Partner JXS leaders to provide vision and direction for JXS youth ministry and programmes.
b. Provide pastoral care and discipling of youths, as well as care for non/new believer youths of JXS age range.
c. Disciple and train leaders, mentoring and empowering them to serve with calling and giftings.
d. Oversee JXS Youth programs such as weekly sessions, camps, and other youth events.
e. Work with adult volunteers and parents in youth work.
f. Manage youth transition from Sunday School and assimilation to JXS.
g. Manage youth transition from JXS and assimilation to XS
2. Church Ministry
Working with PIC and pastoral team in church ministry, operation and partnering the various church committees such as missions, social concerns, worship ministry, church school to serve the larger body of the church.
3. Conference Ministry
Represent Charis Methodist in CAC Conference matters as approved by PIC (such as organising Lay Ministry Staff Retreat and serving as mentor in Board of Youth Ministry).
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Have some form of theological training
2. Have working experience with youth in a church setting
3. Passion outreach and evangelism
4. Desire to mentor youths
5. Have initiative and is resourceful
