Job Summary:
Morning Star Community Services (MSCS) focuses on building a strong relationship between the child and the parent. At our After-School Care Services (SCS) centres, we strive to serve the Primary School going children with care and to protect their dignity using principals of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) via the programmes we run.
The Student Programmes Specialist aids the Manager and s/he is responsible for initiating and curating a variety of additional programmes for the Centres to enhance children’s learning and development.
S/he will also need to explore and discuss programmes options with student care staff members and build positive working relationship with various stakeholders in the company in order to deliver meaningful and engaging activities for the students.
The incumbent is expected to work 6 hours daily on weekdays (30 hour work week). S/he is largely expected to work in an indoor environment, although S/he is required to travel to and from various student care facilities. S/he will be paid OT in the event that s/he is required to work on weekends and beyond 6 hours on weekdays.
Key responsibility areas
Management and Planning of Enrichment Programmes and Activities
- Explore & discuss programmes options with in-house staff, potential sponsor partners (including CDCs, Corporate sponsors, CCs, other VWOs, Schools etc), or potential vendors.
- Programmes are either crafted in-house, sponsored by partners, or outsourced to a vendor.
- Build positive working relationship with programme sponsors and/or providers.
- Liaise closely with Centre Manager & Team Leaders to secure suitable programmes & ensure feasible execution
- Manage the design of publicity materials for social media marketing for outsourced programmes
- Prepare and disseminate communications materials to centres for broadcast to parents
- Liaise closely with in-house Communications and Development colleagues in order to plan effective marketing and/or secure in-kind sponsorship for SCS’s planned enrichment programmes for all SCS centres
Requirements
Experience & Requirements:
- A strong interest in children’s programmes and activities
- At least 5 years of experience in similar roles
- Experience in the social service sector preferable
- Good command of English and writing skills
- Knowledge in design and social media marketing will be an advantage
Qualifications:
- Minimally a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree preferred
