About Our Client

Our Client is a prominent company recognized for its extensive global presence and contribution to the shipping industry. Known for their comprehensive range of shipping services, they aim to maintain and improve their current performance both locally and regionally of which they are seeking for a Senior Shipping Executive (Trade) to be based at their HQ in Singapore.

Job Description

  • Oversee daily pricing activities and establish rate guidelines, including applicable surcharges.
  • Implement yield management strategies to optimize profitability.
  • Collect and evaluate market data to maintain competitive positioning.
  • Assess customer requests for extended free time and handle other commercial-related matters.
  • Develop revenue forecasts and trade volume projections to assist in business planning.
  • Collaborate closely with overseas offices on all commercial projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct feasibility analyses on pricing models and trade services to support business growth.
  • Prepare monthly trade reports, including detailed analyses of container business performance and contribution margins.
  • Manage vessel space allocation to ensure efficient utilization and maximize profitability.
  • Coordinate with agents and internal/external stakeholders on trade services, including the launch of new services, service adjustments, and vessel positioning.
  • Maintain the Trade Services Catalogue and prepare regular lifting reports.
  • Monitor transshipment cargo space utilization and oversee container stock management.
  • Evaluate agent performance in maximizing space utilization efficiency.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant will have a Degree in Business or an equivalent qualification with at least one year of experience, or a Diploma with relevant experience in a large shipping firm. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, both independently and as part of a team. Meticulous and assertive, you must be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
