We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Process Technician to join our chemical processing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth plant operations by adhering to safety procedures, supporting shift activities, and documenting operation status. This role is critical in maintaining plant efficiency and safety, with a focus on chemical processing, polymerization, and extrusion operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend toolbox meetings and ensure all relevant operational updates are communicated effectively.
- Document the status of operations under your control in patrol logs and handover log sheets for accurate record-keeping.
- Provide support to shift operations, especially during times of manpower shortages or special operational periods requiring extra staffing.
- Work in collaboration with shift supervisors and fellow technicians to ensure smooth plant operation.
- Strictly follow documented procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, risk assessments, and check sheets to ensure safe and stable operations in the plant.
- Ensure compliance with ISO14001, ISO9001, and SS506 Part 3 standards.
- Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing the chemical processes, including polymerization and extrusion (if applicable).
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance plant safety, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Nitec in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a chemical processing environment.
- Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion processes is advantageous
- Basic knowledge of chemical processing.
- Familiarity with ISO14001, ISO9001, and SS506 Part 3 standards.
- Proficient in using computing software such as MS Word and MS Excel.
