We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Operation Engineer to support and drive continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, environment, and health management systems. The successful candidate will have a background in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, with experience in a chemical processing plant. This role will be critical in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant processes, while also contributing to the company’s compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and maintenance of Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Health Management Systems such as SS506 Part 3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and IATF 16949.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in operational processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Monitor and ensure safe operations by participating in process safety management activities and conducting quantitative risk assessments (such as Layer of Protection Analysis - LOPA).
- Collaborate in the preparation and maintenance of safety case documentation.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for chemical and mechanical engineering processes within the plant.
- Assist in the optimization of plant performance by applying chemical, mechanical, or polymer science knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with cost control measures, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Maintain working knowledge of relevant standards, such as ISO9001, ISO14001, SS506-Part 3, and related regulations.
- Participate in energy management and process optimization, and assist in the maintenance of steam systems if certified as a Steam Engineer or Boiler Attendant (preferred).
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions in response to operational issues.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and safe plant operations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or its equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operation Engineer in a chemical processing plant.
- Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) or Steam Engineer/Boiler Attendant certificate.
- Strong knowledge of chemical and mechanical engineering principles, and/or polymer science.
- Experience in process safety management and conducting quantitative risk assessments (LOPA, Safety Case preparation, etc.).
- Working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, SS506-Part 3, and related management systems.
- Familiarity with cost control methods and regulatory compliance in chemical processing environments.
