Research Officer

The Community Psychology Hub (CPH) is dedicated to improving people’s lives through innovative, quality psychological and research services. We work in active collaboration with partners in the social service and public sector to provide care for persons with vulnerabilities alongside their families in the community. Set up by the Ministry of Social and Family Development in 2015, we are a unit sited within SG Enable Ltd, a registered charity and an Institution of a Public Character.


The Community Psychology Hub (CPH) provides psychological and research services to different stakeholders in the social service sector, community and government. CPH is dedicated to improving people’s lives through innovative and quality psychological services.

Our researchers specialize in policy, assessment and intervention research for people with diverse needs (disabilities/vulnerabilities) using implementation, evaluation, measurement, and data sciences.

As a Research Officer within CPH, you will be working closely with your supervisor and a team of researchers in conducting the various research activities involved in the project.


Responsibilities

1. Participate in the entire research cycle of the project

· Conduct literature review

· Plan and implement measures to investigate the research questions

· Data collection, data management, analyses (incl. interpretations and explanations), etc

2. Translate project results to policies/programmes

· Draft, prepare and present written reports or presentations to funders and stakeholders

3. Provide and share research training & consultancy internally and externally

· Share learning from attending courses related to your work (e.g., statistics/research)

· Engage in peer support and knowledge sharing to other team members

4. Other responsibilities

· Attend CPH meetings and events when necessary

· Draft, prepare and submit reports or other deliverables as required promptly

· Build and maintain good rapports with internal and external stakeholders

· Carry out any other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer/Leadership Team

5. Professional development

· Attend CPH endorsed training/workshops/seminars so as to develop relevant knowledge and skills

Requirements

1. Educational qualifications

· A recognised Bachelor (with Honours) in Psychology or Statistics/Data Science

2. Knowledge & Experience

· At least 2 years of relevant experience in carrying out research projects

· Familiarity in implementation, evaluation, measurement, data analyses & project management

· Knowledge of Microsoft office (e.g., Advanced Excel) and statistical programmes (e.g., SPSS, R, Python)

· Experience with online survey administration platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, FormSG) will be an advantage

· Experience with facilitation of focus group discussion will be an advantage

3. Other qualities

· Strong interest in community research for “vulnerable populations”

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong administration, planning, time-management, interpersonal and organisational skills

· Able to problem-solve and provide creative/innovative solutions

· Able to work quickly under pressure and tight timelines

· Able to work independently and as part of a project team

· Able to work with diverse stakeholders and funders
