Job Description:
Design, plan and deploy hybrid cloud infrastructure that support different business functions of StarHub. The role includes design, planning, implementation and providing system training. He/she may lead important projects that require providing team members with instruction, guidance, and advice. He/she applies a critical and analytical approach to identify the business needs of the organization, design and implement cloud infrastructures to rollout services.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects and architecture relating to system and cloud infrastructure.
- Fulfil project life cycle activities including project management, architecture design, security compliance, implementation, and operations maintenance.
- Administration of assigned systems, capacity planning, provisioning, including security compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Carry out system maintenance, provide fast service recovery and within SLA
- Conduct constant research and innovation of current system infrastructure, keep updated of new technologies, and create roadmaps to achieve better cost savings, increase productivity and new revenue opportunities.
- Explore and evaluate latest technologies to introduce ideas to improve or automate current processes.
- Perform rotating standby duties and serve as technical escalation point that supports our operations.
- Manage systems changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
- Implement governance, build, deploy and monitor standards in clouds.
- Involve in the implementation of service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
- Support and participate in systems integrations and CI/CD automation for cloud infrastructure and workflow.
- Support the development and maintenance of application infrastructure reference architecture using innovative solutions or technologies that facilitate systems integration and management of cloud resources.
- Work with security team to implement necessary security features on cloud to comply with company security framework, provide early detection and set up security alerts to mitigate and protect application infrastructure services and application systems against cybersecurity threats.
- Work closely with software application team to ensure the cloud architecture design and cloud resources are performing at optimum level securely for different applications.
- Work with partners on automation of infrastructure migration in/to cloud environments.
- Work with cloud service providers to ensure their service deliveries, processes and documentations meet significant metrics and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
Requirements:
- Appropriate qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/ Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of security policy and compliance, with at least 2 years of experiences in handling security and network infrastructure e.g. routers, switches, firewall, load balancers, proxies, authentication systems (AD, TACACS, Radius).
- Good internet systems knowledge e.g. DNS, DHCP, IPAM.
- Hands-on proficiency in Linux and Window Server administration.
- Good knowledge of virtualization e.g. Kernel Virtual Machine (KVM), VMware.
- Understanding of Representational State Transfer (REST) and Application Program Interfaces (APIs).
- Strong knowledge in technology infrastructure domain such as virtual server technologies, networking, internet protocols, scripting & monitoring tools, as well as infrastructure automation methodologies and technologies.
- Familiar with cloud-native architecture and Kubernetes.
- Strong analytical skill, creative and thinking out of the box when problem solving.
- Certification in cloud technology platforms (in Architecture or Networking), Container Architecture, Systems and/or Network Virtualization.
- Knowledge of telco network such as Mobile and Fixed will be advantageous.
