Job Description
• Chairside assisting
• Assist dentist during consultation and general procedures
• Assist dentist with procedures such as filling cavities or performing root canals.
• Disinfection and sterilisation of dental chair, room and instruments
• Ensure dental surgery health and safety policy are adhered to
• Take notes from dentist as per dictation for patients records
• Explain to patients what their treatment entails
• Making models of patients teeth
• Any other duties as and when assigned
Job Requirements
· Minimum NITEC in Dental Assisting or equivalent. Candidates with relevant work experience may be considered
· Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Training will be provided for those with lesser experience.
· Have excellent communication skills to reassure patients and create a friendly atmosphere in the dental clinic
· Ability to educate patients on preventative and oral health care
· Excellent decision making, communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
· Ability to use Plato is an advantage but not a requirement
Able to work night shift and weekends (five-day workweek)
