Director, Business Mgmt - Finance & Treasury

JOB SUMMARY
Business Planning and Management

  • Work closely with the Finance & Treasury MTs to define and drive the implementation of the domains medium- and longer-term strategic direction and objectives.
  • Spearhead the transformation & remediation activities within the Functions domains specifically for Finance.
  • Responsible for the design and implement a standardised Target Operating Model (TOM) and organization structure, including a location, grade and employee type strategy to meet the strategic goals.
  • Set clear strategic functional objectives for the domain and ensure that these objectives are reflected and cascaded in the teams. Setting the metrics and performance standards for the year.
  • Report on the progress and key achievements for the domains on a regular basis for stakeholder’s review
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
  • Develop with the Domain leads actions to drive increased Employee promoter scores year on year

People and Talent

  • Continuously refine the seniority and span of the organisation to meet changing needs
  • Implement standardised titles, Job Descriptions across the function
  • Work with CIO’s to formulate succession plans
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks. Identify, define and drive the appropriate Learning and Development (L&D) plans for the team
  • Act as an approver for all functional hiring
  • Work closely with the CIO’s on employee performance and reward recognition cycle, meeting targets and curves
  • Set the appropriate headcount caps by location and grade and govern adherence
  • Monitor and challenge resource growth
  • Implement continuous improvement activities to enhance people engagement

Finance Management

  • Partner with T&I Finance teams to deliver financial transparency and act as expert on cost explains and deep dives to stakeholders
  • Oversee the domain cost alignments to facilitate accurate financial reporting
  • Work in collaboration with the CIO’s to manage the cost base in-line with budget. Ensure risk and issues are quantified, escalated, and cost reduction opportunities realised
  • Review for approval all domain expenditure, ensuring all project to BAU initiatives are appropriately funded for future year support

Vendor Management

  • Ensure Vendor management framework is fully implemented within the team and full compliant for Contract Manager responsibilities
  • Act as liaison with Sourcing and Vendor Management teams where vendor contracts require renegotiation

Communications

  • Communicate strategy to all levels within the Finance & Treasury domain
  • Drive people engagement within the Finance & Treasury domain, by:
  • Promoting success stories and achievements internally
  • Arrange Town Halls

Processes

  • Review various processes and work with respective stakeholders to enhance processes

Risk Management

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the team and our Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Governance

  • Work with Head of Governance to define and maintain monthly scorecard for Finance & Treasury domain

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years of experience in a Business Management role in a global financial organisation or similar scale organisation
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, able to rapidly adapt to and adopt new ways of working and find value creation opportunities.
  • Ability to apply judgement on moderate to complex business problems
  • Strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility in accomplishing the organisation’s goal. Is confident and will roll-up his/her sleeves to drive success. Able to get things done in a fast-paced environment. Is transparent and open around what doesn’t work and what does.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines and effectively prioritise
  • Experience of developing a people strategy, influencing relevant stakeholders and decision makers, and executing decisions efficiently and consistently
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business
  • Strong communication and briefing skills

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding around budgeting and forecasting, particularly around headcount cost
  • Experience engaging and influencing at executive level a mandatory requirement
  • Experience in developing a people strategy, influencing relevant stakeholders and decision makers, and executing decisions efficiently and consistently
  • Past success with defining and implementing operating models and driving organisational change
  • Strong sense of personal ownership and responsibility in accomplishing the organisation’s goal. Is confident and will roll-up his/her sleeves to drive success
  • Able to get things done in a quick-paced environment. Be transparent and open around what doesn’t work and what does
  • Expertise in defining strategic communication– oral, written and presenting; across various types of target audiences
  • Experience delivering people change/diversity/culture improvement programs required
