Senior Intellectual Property Attorney (Global IP Planning)

Job Summary

Management and administration of Intellectual Property (IP) for Advantest (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (ASP) and its subsidiaries (Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and China).

Management of Legal affairs for ASP and its subsidiaries.

Work closely with Global IP teams and Global Legal teams in particular teams based in Japan, US, Europe and Singapore)

Study and propose Advantest’s Global IP strategy from a medium to long-term perspective.


Roles and Responsibilities:

Institute programs to detect and prevent copying of Advantest products.

Institute programs to prevent information leaks.

Advising on IP disputes and resolving disputes for ASP and its subsidiaries.

Managing patent portfolios, liaising with inventors, patent offices in Japan, Singapore, and the region.

Gathering up-to-date information on customers and competitors in Singapore and the region. Reporting and making recommendations to Global IP in Japan.

Contract review and other legal advice, legal support for ASP and its subsidiaries.

Compliance-related support, Global Authorization Statement support (GAS Expert) for ASP and its subsidiaries.

IP and legal training and seminars for colleagues for ASP and its subsidiaries.

Formulation of Advantest’s Global IP strategy, vision, mission and, organization from a medium to long-term perspective.

Work closely with Global Finance and Tax teams in Japan as part of Global IP Strategy.


Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical, or a Science discipline

Must be Registered/Qualified Patent Agent/Attorney (Singapore, US, EP or Japan Preferred)

10 years Post Qualifying Experience.

Extensive Work Experience both In-House and Law/Patent Firm required.

Knowledge and Work Experience in Semiconductor Technologies required.
