Job Responsibilities:
- Seek out and acquire new business and customers for the organization (this is primarily a hunting role).
- Lead engagement efforts and expand relationships with assigned customers in the country.
- Maintain strong and positive relationships with all assigned customers.
- Prepare and lead customer quotations and proposals.
- Achieve targets and contribute to the organization's revenue, volume, and gross profit growth.
- Implement business development strategies and tactics.
- Assist management in developing sales plans, tactics, and strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with local and regional product teams (including Air, Ocean, and others) to secure competitive market rates for customer proposals.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of managed customers, identifying areas for action and executing necessary measures.
- Support and facilitate the growth of assigned accounts both regionally and globally, if needed.
- Collaborate with leadership and relevant stakeholders to implement new and existing sales initiatives.
- Participate in tenders/RFQs/bids as required.
- Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders, including Tech, Product, Customer Service, Operations, and others.
- Provide input on process improvements and help implement related changes.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Execute and oversee any additional tasks assigned by direct and indirect supervisors.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Certification in Logistics and/or Supply Chain is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing role within freight forwarding, shipping, air cargo, logistics, supply chain, or similar industries, specifically in business development, sales, commercial, operations, or customer service
- Pure hunting role; must have working knowledge of freight forwarding and/or logistics operations and sales processes
- Understanding of customer retention and experience in managing customer relationships
- Strong customer focus and commitment to service excellence
- Proven track record in executing successful sales development strategies
- Proactive, independent, and capable of multitasking in a startup environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, accountable, initiative-driven, and eager to learn
- Strong consultative sales techniques and well-developed negotiation skills
- High level of honesty, integrity, and ethical standards
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate, present, and influence at all organizational levels, including executives
- Capable of managing the competing needs of different stakeholders while fostering collaborative relationships
- Proven self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and/or remotely
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
