The Executive, Operations is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and engineering services at the nursing home. This role ensures that all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are operating efficiently to provide a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Schedule and supervise routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Ensure timely repairs to minimize downtime and disruptions.
2. Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all systems and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all inspections and certifications.
3. Vendor and Contractor Coordination:
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
- Oversee contractor work to ensure it meets nursing home standards.
- Procure necessary maintenance supplies and equipment.
4. Team Supervision:
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians and support staff.
- Provide training and development opportunities for the team.
- Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback.
5. Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for system failures.
- Be available for on-call duties in case of urgent issues.
- Coordinate with other departments during emergencies to ensure continuity of care and operations.
6. Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget.
- Monitor expenditures and find cost-effective solutions.
- Report regularly on financial performance.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
- Stay current with technological advancements in facility management.
8. Others
- Any other tasks as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in facility management (e.g., IFMA, BIFM) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work may require occasional evening or weekend coverage.
- Be prepared for on-call duties in case of emergencies.
- Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
