IT Manager - Social Services (East, Singapore)

The Role

Looking for an IT Manager to join our client, a social services organisation located in the East. This is an individual contributor role focused on managing IT operations through effective vendor management, overseeing a single outsourced IT partner. The ideal candidate will have strong technical acumen, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to support the delivery of essential social services. You will be responsible for ensuring that our IT infrastructure runs smoothly while optimising the services provided by external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for managing the relationship with the outsourced IT partner.
  • Oversee vendor performance, ensuring timely and effective delivery of IT services and solutions.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure cost-effective and high-quality services.
  • Monitor vendor compliance with security standards, legal requirements, and organisational policies.

IT Operations & Infrastructure

  • Coordinate with the outsourced IT partner to maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including network, systems, and hardware.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of all IT systems critical to the organisation's operations.
  • Manage incidents and escalations, working closely with the vendor to resolve issues swiftly and efficiently.

Technology Strategy & Planning

  • Collaborate with leadership to align IT initiatives with the organisation’s goals, particularly in delivering social services.
  • Identify opportunities for improving IT systems to enhance the efficiency of the organisation.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, particularly those relevant to the social services sector, and make recommendations for adoption.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, and oversee cybersecurity protocols in collaboration with the outsourced partner.
  • Conduct regular IT audits and risk assessments to safeguard organisational data and ensure IT systems are secure.

Key Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CISM) are advantageous.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in IT management or similar roles.
  • Demonstrated success in managing outsourced IT vendors or service providers.
  • Hands-on experience in IT operations, infrastructure management, and technology implementation.

Skills:

  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills, with a focus on maintaining cost-effectiveness and high service quality.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage IT operations in a lean environment.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical staff and leadership.
  • A collaborative, self-driven mindset with the ability to manage projects independently
