Roles and Responsibilities:

An After School Care Centre Leader is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the centre, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for students. The role involves overseeing the planning and execution of educational and recreational activities, managing staff, and communicating with parents. Leaders must ensure that children’s well-being, development, and academic needs are met, while adhering to regulatory requirements.


Job Description:

  • Oversee daily operations (class scheduling, staff deployment, student attendance tracking
  • Mentor and support teachers by reviewing lesson plans, conducting evaluations, refining teaching methods and liaising with parents to address any queries
  • Organise, manage, and programs planning, enrichment activities, holiday programs etc.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase student enrollment, conduct enrollment interviews, and collaborate with the marketing team on social media outreach
  • Implement and manage CRM tools for communication, data management, and ensuring all events receive appropriate media coverage
  • Oversee budget planning and resource allocation for events and within the centre
  • Implement conflict resolution strategies and ensure that incidents are documented and professionally handled
  • Ensure that the centre adheres to all regulatory requirements, MOE, MSF & ECC guidelines. Establish, review and align SOP to align to the brand’s SOP.
  • Provide academic assistance and guidance to students during homework time. Communicate with teachers and parents to track academic progress
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager to support the centre's objectives.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Holder, preferably Education/ Child Psychology, or related fields.
  • Higher qualifications in leadership or management are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a student care or educational setting.
  • Proven experience in team management, student care, and operational oversight.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and guide a team of teachers and assistants.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills for managing centre operations, student enrolment, and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, and staff.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable with administrative systems.
  • Ability to handle conflict resolution, behaviour management, and provide constructive feedback to staff and students.
  • Capable of planning and executing academic and recreational programs that cater to students' holistic development.
