The Role
We are looking to recruit a Legal Project Coordinator (“LPC”) to join our growing Legal Project Management capability across EMEA. The LPC will assist with the day-to-day activities of the Legal Project Management (“LPM”) team, which is part of NRF’s Legal Transformation Programme.
The main focus of the LPM team is to support the partners and associates in setting up and managing the delivery of their matters, as well as providing strategic input at a client level. The LPM team has grown rapidly since its inception in 2019 and has made a positive impact on the business. Accordingly, the role of LPC has been created to provide additional support that will enable the LPM team to add further value to the firm.
The successful candidate will be based in our Singapore office and will report to the Head of Legal Project Management in the UK and the Chief Operating Officer - South East Asia.
This is a critical role and provides a great opportunity to help drive change in the delivery of our legal services. The work you will be involved in will vary in accordance with the ongoing projects and initiatives within the LPM team and the business. Training will be provided.
The role will require you to, amongst other things:
- Support the LPM team and lawyers in managing matters, including drafting agendas and minutes; creating and populating project plans and timelines; monitoring and reporting on scope, workstreams, deadlines and fees; and facilitating the billing process as required.
- Facilitate communication among internal teams or between internal and external stakeholders to ensure all parties are informed of matter progress.
- Assist the LPM and Legal Transformation Programme teams in implementing relevant legal technologies on matters.
- Take ownership of and coordinating smaller discreet projects and Legal Project Management tasks.
- Analyse and manipulate data sets using bespoke software, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power BI, to provide insight appropriate for consumption by different stakeholders.
- Assist with other special projects as needed.
Skills and Experience Required
- Ideally educated to a Bachelor’s degree level.
- Experience in a law firm and/or project management is desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work either autonomously, cooperatively or with direction, to ensure that tasks are completed on time.
- A self-starter and have the ability to multi-task – proven forward planning skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and learn quickly.
- High level of attention to detail and problem solver with a methodical and positive approach to resolving issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
- Advanced MS Excel skills advantageous.
- MS Project, Power BI, SharePoint and Power Automate skills preferable.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to manipulate and work with large amounts of data.
- Ability to identify and present on key messages resulting from analytical projects.
- Have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative and learn.
- Ability to demonstrate interest and concern to meet the needs of internal and external clients.
