Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Identifying and communicating processing and design issues that limit wafer yield.
  • Perform daily analysis of electrical data as well as electrical and visual characterization of failing devices.
  • Writes clear and concise reports, and offers daily presentations and clear yield reports with explanation of yield deviations and limiters
  • Use knowledge of semiconductor device physics, electronics and semiconductor manufacturing process to explain and resolve yield issues.
  • Work with other internal YE groups and work to understand their constraints.
  • Create/participate in multi-area focus teams to troubleshoot complex yield problems.
  • Present data in large meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of Memory devices and function.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present data in large meetings
  • Demonstrated ability to be dynamic and proactive
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, multi-task, prioritize and manage projects, and facilitate problem solving processes
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Good understanding of electrical testing and characterization and device physics
  • Intermediate computer skills including Excel, PowerPoint, JMP, and UNIX

Maximizes yield by working on tools, the process, or wafer fabrication recipes. Troubleshoots wafer fabrication problems and performs root cause analysis. Works with other process areas to understand and control process deviations. Long-term investigation of defect issues may require extensive work with shift engineering and other functional areas. Evaluates products to ensure they meet the required design and performance specifications. Conducts research to assess process adjustment requirements and recommends process improvements or equipment changes needed to efficiently manufacture new product or part types.
