About the role:
Incident Management
- Monitoring new incidents
- Working on incidents assigned
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
- Timely follow-up and closure of incidents
- Updating and resolving incidents status in ITSM system
Service Request Fulfilment
- Monitoring of new service request (SR)
- Work on SR assigned
- Setup and configure new device
- Hardening of network devices
- Timely follow-up and closure of SR
- Updating SR status in ITSM System and closure of SR
- Updating Asset Management team on asset issued / returned
Firmware Upgrade
- Upgrade of firmware of devices.
- Testing upon completion of upgrade
24 x 7 standby support
- 24 x 7 standby support and to go onsite as and when required
- Daily health check / Escort vendor
- Daily health check and submission of daily health check report
- Escort vendor when request are raised
Other tasks:
- Conduct any other tasks as required of a network engineer role
- Responsible for the infrastructure network design, implementation, testing, security, managing and maintenance of proposed system
- Understand & analyze the requirements and assist in development of module technical design specification
- Configure and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Manage project tasks to meet schedule, cost and quality
- Work closely with Team Leader/Project Manager to meet system delivery milestones
- Manage project tasks to meet schedule, cost and quality
- Provide technical documentation support to Project & Solutions Teams, as well as hand over as-built system documentation to Maintenance support team
- Engage with back-line support and/or with vendor’s support to diagnose and rectify technical problems.
- Assist in day-to-day operation of the System Delivery team
- Carry out other technical related duties that may be required.
About you:
- Minimum Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in network security engineering.
- Proficiency in Cisco Catalyst Switches (IOS), Cisco Nexus Switches (NXOS), and Alcatel Lucent Switches (AOS).
- Experience in configuring and managing Palo Alto and Fortinet Fortigate Firewalls.
- Proficient in ClearPass Policy Manager for network access control and policy enforcement.
- Knowledge of network protocols, security architectures, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with other firewall solutions beyond Palo Alto and Fortinet, such as Check Point or Cisco ASA.
- Proficiency in network encryption protocols and VPN technologies.
- Understanding of network segmentation and micro-segmentation principles.
- Knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with SolarWinds NPM / NCM for network monitoring and configuration management.
