Job Description
- Performs a variety of engineering duties to support manufacturing operations.
- Improves products, processes and applications to meet agreed-upon objectives.
- Participates actively in new product introduction, including influencing the design of the product and/or process to ensure manufacturability and conformance with the global supply chain, enabling prototyping while in the R&D lab, testing the reliability of prototypes, scale-up, and managing the transition into production.
- Supports and implements the transition of products and manufacturing processes from prototype to full production and through the entire life cycle of the product.
- In a process environment, interfaces with the chemical development lab and production to ensure small-scale development activities will scale to manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Coordinates the revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) as required to support the transfer.
- Partners with procurement, external vendors and customers to improve/sustain products and processes to meet production timelines, quality policies, and customer expectations.
- Utilizes digital solutions to optimize and maintain state of the art manufacturing processes.
- May work with suppliers to ensure achievement of goals for cost, quality and delivery of parts and materials.
- May identify and manage ERP data such as bill of material and routing.
- May be required to use continuous improvement methodologies and understand quality regulations related to the life science industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Post-graduate, certification, and/or license may be required.
- Typically, at least 1-2+ years relevant experience.
