About The Role
As an Electronic Security Designer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electronic security systems that protect physical assets, facilities, and personnel. Your role will involve integrating various electronic security technologies to create comprehensive solutions tailored to the clients/organization's needs. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure that security designs meet operational requirements while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
The role shall require the highest levels of attention to detail, strong coordination, and planning skills, as well as an ability to work under pressure and to demanding deadlines. Ideally suited to a person with experience in planning, producing, and delivering compliant bid proposal within a complex business environment; and a blend of abilities including process planning, document creation, proofreading, methodical working, loyalty, teamwork, and customer focus.

System Design and Integration:
- Design electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection, and intercom systems.
- Integrate different technologies and components to create cohesive and effective security solutions.
Requirements Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand operational needs for security systems.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications and design documentation.
Technical Evaluation and Selection:
- Evaluate and select appropriate security equipment, software, and technologies based on functional requirements, performance criteria, and budget constraints.
- Conduct vendor evaluations and manage relationships with suppliers.
System Configuration and Installation Support:
- Configure security systems and oversee installation activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams and contractors.
Testing and Commissioning:
- Conduct testing and commissioning of electronic security systems to verify functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during testing phases.
Documentation and Training:
- Create comprehensive design documentation, including system diagrams, wiring schematics, and operating procedures.
- Provide training and support to end-users and stakeholders on the operation and maintenance of security systems.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure that security designs comply with relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, ASIS International).
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electronic security.
Who You Are
The candidate will require a working knowledge of the following systems:
- Lenel Access Control: A strong knowledge of Lenel hardware and software configurations.
- CCTV: knowledge of both IP and Analogue CCTV systems including the use of network video recorders and software.
- Integrated Systems: Experience with major integrated Access Control/CCTV/Intruder systems/Perimeter detection systems that are fully integrated.
- Intruder Alarms: Basic competency in measurement and pricing intruder alarms.
- Service: The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of service in the security industry and shall be able to price various service solutions.
- Advanced MS excel skills will be required.
- Awareness of commercial business terms and conditions commonly adopted within the security industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing electronic security systems, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
- In-depth knowledge of access control systems, CCTV surveillance systems, intrusion detection systems, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in CAD and or Rivet 3D software for creating system designs and schematics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
