What you will do:
· Work directly with bioinformatics scientists to expand and optimize our data and processing pipeline architecture
· Work with partners and customers to onboard them onto our product platform including configuration, integration and customization of the product
· Optimize data flow systems for cross-functional teams in a secured and scalable manner
· Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements, transforming data into formats that are easy to consume and analyze
· Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, e.g., automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
· Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into key performance metrics and support our next gen of products and data initiatives.
What you will need:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field with 5+ years of experience/Master’s degree with 3+ year of experience
· Strong core software engineering and design principles such as object-oriented programming, version control, and runtime optimization
· Experience in working with partners to firm up requirements for integration or customization in writing
· Strong coding and software architecture design skills in at least one language (preferably Python)
· Familiarity with AWS services like S3 and EC2 and experience with working in a Unix environment
· Familiarity with pre/post sales technical support to the commercial team including answering RFP/RFQ and designing solutions based on the platform targeting the specific needs of the customer/partner
· Preference for with bioinformatics NGS data stored in both SQL database and NoSQL database
· Willingness to travel in the region when required to provide support to customers
What is good to have:
· Experience building bioinformatics pipelines for processing NGS data
· Proficiency with SQL and MongoDB NoSQL query
· Experience building software in an industry setting
· Experience with management tools like GIT, Airflow, Glue, or NextFlow
· Strong understanding of AWS tools such as S3, EC2, RDS, and Lambda
· Some microbiology genomics background or experience with prokaryotic genomic sequencing data
