Role: SAS Consultant
Experience: 7-12 Years
Key Responsibilities:
SAS Administration
· Manage and maintain the SAS 9.4/Viya platform, including user management, security roles, and system monitoring.
· Ensure the stability and performance of the SAS environment through regular system maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SAS application services, and server performance. Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance across the SAS platform.
Stakeholder Management
· Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
· Work closely with stakeholders from various business areas to understand their reporting needs and provide solutions that add value.
· Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to end-users to maximize the adoption and usage of SAS.
· Plan & collaborate across different application teams to manage technical and functional dependencies of the solution.
· Collate, understand and finalize functional and technical requirements.
· Provide status update related to technical delivery to Project Manager (PM)/ Program Manager on functional deliveries.
· Partner with Architects and Development Lead to ensure solution design complies with enterprise design principles, security and control standards.
· Partner with Development Manager in managing application teams to build the enhancements.
· Partner with Test Manager to ensure completion of System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), performance / load testing and application security testing with quality results.
· Escalate issues that impacts project schedule on timely basis and propose workarounds/resolutions.
Documentation and Change Management
· Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, system configurations, and user guides.
· Manage the change process, ensuring that all changes to the SAS platform are thoroughly tested, documented, and approved before implementation.
· Maintain version control and ensure proper documentation of all development changes.
· Prepare and manage technical implementation plan across application teams - coordinate technical implementation activities across application teams to ensure non-event production cutover and adequate post implementation support
Key Requirements:
Technical Skills & Experience
· Strong knowledge of SAS 9.4/Viya server architecture.
· Experience in managing large-scale SAS platform , including performance tuning and system monitoring.
· Installation and configuration of SAS 9.4/Viya Platform.
· Experience in migrating SAS 9.4 platform to SAS Viya including SAS objects and data migration.
· Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
· Experience with documentation and change management processes
· Good track record in developing and delivering global/regional IT capabilities for a multi-national/regional company with annual budgetary responsibility.
· Working closely with stakeholders to develop practical domain roadmaps to move the enterprise towards the future state vision, while considering business, technical and delivery constraints
· Experience in banking industry preferred
· Proven result-oriented person with a focus on delivery
· Experience in actual systems development work, with prior coding, functional specifications and technical specifications and systems development and testing experience
· Good understanding and experience in software development cycle
· Highly effective communicating with technical stakeholders, proficient communicating with non-technical stakeholders
Good problem solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills.
Education
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or similar domain
· Related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory.
