Technical Delivery Manager

Role: Technical Delivery Manager


Key Responsibilities:

· Project Leadership: Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Business Glossary, Change management and Data lineage solution, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

· Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements, translating them into actionable project plans.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data stewards, IT professionals, and business analysts, infrastructure & information security teams, change management teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach for end-to-end implementation

· Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the accuracy, consistency, performance & SLA monitoring and completeness of metadata and data lineage information in SIT, UAT and production environment

· Project Management & Risk Management: Plan, execute, and deliver projects and change requests within scope, on time, and within budget. Identify and mitigate risks associated ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

· Training and Documentation: Provide inputs for training programs and ensure documentation to enhance understanding and adoption of best practices within the organization.

· Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the performance of SQL queries and jobs, recommend adjustments as needed to meet performance objectives.

· Stakeholder Communication: Maintain transparent and effective communication with stakeholders, including senior management, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions. Convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in simple ways.

· Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.

Technical & Functional Skills

Technical Skills

· 8+ years of experience in implementing data governance solutions with a strong background in deploying such solutions, encompassing both on-premise and cloud-based models.

· Scripting and Programming: Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Stored Procedures, Bteq scripts, Spark SQL, Python) and programming languages to support metadata extraction and manipulation.

· Database Technologies: In-depth knowledge of various database technologies, including but not limited to Hadoop, Teradata, SAS, Oracle, MS SQL, DB2.

· Data Lineage: Experience with data lineage methodologies to establish and visualize end-to-end data flows. Identify and build both business and technical lineage, including strategies for fixing lineage breaks

· ETL/ELT Tools: Expertise in ETL/ELT tools like Informatica PowerCenter, SSIS, and other data integration platforms to understand and document transformation logic.

· Knowledge in Data modelling, working with calculations, leveraging the Set Analysis

Functional Skills

· Business Glossary Management: Strong understanding of banking business glossary concepts and the ability to work with business stakeholders to define and manage business terms and their relationships.

· Data Governance Frameworks: Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices and the ability to implement governance policies.

· Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulatory requirements related to data management, ensuring compliance in data lineage implementations.

· Should have worked in large scale data warehouse / data lake implementation

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges related to metadata quality, data lineage accuracy, and overall data governance effectiveness

· Fast Learner, enjoy analytical and data modelling work and proactive in providing solutions

· Good interpersonal and communication skills with attention to details

· Be forward looking and agile to adapt to changing bank’s needs and dynamic working environment

· Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability

· Embrace tackling and resolving complex technical design issues

· Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills while exercising good judgment

· Ability to work on multiple projects at a time

· Be able to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

· Ability to work in a team distributed across multiple locations

Qualification / Certifications

· Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

· Certification of one or more of products (Python, Cloudera, HIVE, etc.)
