Job Description:
The Part Time Optician assists customers in choosing the correct eyewear, ensures proper fitting, and manages the ordering and adjustment of lenses and frames. This role involves interpreting prescriptions, providing advice on lens types, and delivering exceptional customer service. The Optician also handles administrative tasks related to eyewear sales and maintains inventory.
Brand Representation:
- Act as the brand's spokesperson, embodying the brand’s values and image in all customer interactions.
- Maintain a positive and consistent brand image across all retail environments and customer engagements.
Customer Service, Interaction & Engagement:
- Greet and assist customers in selecting eyeglasses based on their vision needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
- Create a welcoming and memorable shopping experience that reinforces customer loyalty and satisfaction.
- Provide expert advice on lens types, coatings, and enhancements to meet individual needs.
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care and usage.
Professional refraction
- Accurately interpret optical prescriptions.
- Take precise measurements for lenses, including pupillary distance, vertex distance, and fitting heights.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to lens fitting, vision clarity or frame alignment.
Eyewear Fitting and Adjustments
- Perform lens edging and grinding to fit the lenses into the frame.
- Adjust, and align eyewear to ensure the correct vision and comfort for the customer.
- Perform minor repairs and adjustments to frames, such as tightening screws and adjusting nose pads
Sales & Target Achievement
- Drive sales by promoting key products and educating customers on new collections, promotions, and discounts.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales targets by driving brand awareness and product recommendations in retail stores.
In-Store Displays & Merchandising
- Ensure that the brand’s products are displayed attractively and consistently in optical stores.
- Work closely with the visual merchandising team to set up and maintain eye-catching displays that draw attention to the brand.
Inventory
- Stock take
Daily Operation
- Keeping the shop clean and tidy
Job Requirements:
- Registered Optician under MOH Optometrists and Optician Board
- Entry Level candidates with relevant certification welcome
- Willing to work retail hours and weekends
- 5 days work week
