Purpose: Responsible for reviewing customer supplied data and drawings; and the creation of manufacturing data, programs, tools, jigs and fixtures required for the manufacture of complex machined parts in the most efficient and safe machining process.
Key Area of Responsibilities:
- Review customer (internal/external) supplied data and drawings to ensure that supplied information aligns with project requirements and standards.
- Create manufacturing data, programs, tools, jigs, and fixtures required for the manufacture of complex machined parts in the most efficient and safe machining process.
- Perform machine simulation for all CNC programs to ensure error-free machining prior to release.
- Create detailed and clear shopfloor documentation such as machining setup sheets and tool list.
- Handle workshop feedback and troubleshoot problems relating to CNC machining, programming, and cutting tools in order to ensure parts are produced according to customers' drawings specifications.
- Manage revision control on the 3D model, drawing, program, tool list, and setup sheet documentation to ensure accurate records and allow all parties to follow the right revisions.
- Drive continual improvement on existing CNC program.
Qualification & Experiences:
- Degree in Mechanical, Precision Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in the precision machining industry.
- Knowledge of interpretation of engineering drawing
- Knowledge of designing tools (GD&T)
- Experience with 3D CAD, 3D CAM and simulation software (e.g. NX, and Vericut)
- Technical knowledge of cutting methodologies and cutting tools
- Experience with tool database software, automation, and post-processor development is advantageous.
