Job Description & Requirements
Supervisors and general foremen in building and related trades supervise activities of a distinct unit at a construction site, control and coordinate the activities of workers who are engaged in various occupations.
Tasks include:
- Interpreting specifications and job orders
- Determining sequence of operations and use of equipment
- Estimating manpower requirements
- Assigning duties to workers
- Analysing and resolving work problems
- Coordinating the work of one or more units with other units
- Recommending or initiating personnel action
- Supervising co-workers and helping them in their work
- Oversee the construction activities and progress, plan, implement and monitor work
- Schedule in accordance to the master and detailed work programme
- Liaise with Professional Engineer on the Temporary works
- Liaise with consultants (QPS) for technical issues and coordinate the site activities with subcontractors
- Handle of technical and engineering problems
- Maintain quality standards, carry out site inspections and resolve technical issues on time
- Prepare report and method statement whenever necessary
- Manage and control site safety and neat
- Supervise ongoing site activities closely
Construction General Foreman Requirements:
- High school diploma or similar.
- Bachelor's degree in construction, business, management, or engineering preferable.
- Experience in the construction industry required.
- Experience in a leadership role recommended.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to focus and keep calm under pressure.
- Ability to keep track of multiple projects.
