About The Role
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Regulatory Manager for our team in the APAC region. This role will focus on monitoring, overseeing and ensuring compliance of our Performance Chemicals product portfolio with existing and emerging chemical legislations as well as related application-specific regulations in countries across Asia Pacific. Efficient and effective coordination and communication of regulatory activities with global product stewardship & regulatory, regional regulatory experts and regional as well as global product management, including, e.g., early warning in case of regulatory threats and support in substance notification-related or other regulatory-driven topics, are of key importance for the role.
How You Will Do It
- Monitor and stay up to date on the latest chemical legislations, regulatory requirements, guidelines and standards related to chemical compliance in Asia-Pacific via collaboration with country experts, the global regulatory network and by self-driven research.
- Be the go-to person and coordinator for questions and processes related to relevant inventory-based as well as REACH-like regulations and Only Representative setups.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the establishment of internal processes and procedures. Closely collaborate within the global regulatory team to align regional practices with global strategies and initiatives.
- Conduct initial risk assessments to evaluate the impact of regulatory developments on the Performance Chemicals portfolio, facilitating further analyses by, e.g., product stewardship or product management.
- Provide proactive guidance, support and training to internal stakeholders, including product stewardship & regulatory team members, product and business management as well as production and research on regulatory matters and requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and external consultants to address regulatory issues and stay informed of any changes or updates.
- Utilize regulatory data evaluation and maintenance tools, including SAP, to effectively manage and organize regulatory information.
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental sciences, toxicology or related sciences
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in regulatory, product stewardship or related field within chemical or oil & lubricants industry.
- Knowledge of chemical, product safety- and sustainability-related regulations/legislations in the Asia Pacific region
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and guidelines.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, global environment.
- SAP knowledge as well as skills and openness towards digital solutions are an advantage.
