Job Overview:
As an Infant Educarer at Greentree Montessori, you are entrusted with the significant task of providing care and education for our youngest students aged 2 months to 18 months. This position requires deep commitment, creativity, and discipline to stimulate and foster their cognitive, emotional, and physical development.
You will be tasked with the development and execution of a developmentally and culturally appropriate curriculum, utilizing innovative teaching practices, and fostering a trusting and respectful relationship with our students.
You will play a crucial role in building partnerships with families and the community, ensuring continuity of learning between home and the school environment. You will also actively contribute to our culture of collaboration and collegiality, providing guidance and support to junior educators in their professional development and using the school's management software systems effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and Implement Curriculum and Programmes:
- Develop and implement teaching and caregiving activities, considering the safety and wellbeing of the children, and aligned with Montessori principles and the relevant curriculum frameworks.
- Use the school's software management systems to streamline processes and tasks effectively.
- Design a quality learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources.
- Evaluate documentation of children's learning and development to better inform planning and teaching.
- Identify potential teaching and learning methods based on emerging sector trends.
2. Build Stakeholder Relationships and Partnerships:
- Foster a culture of collaboration within the Centre through effective communication strategies.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care and learning between home and the Centre.
3. Manage Family and Community Programmes:
- Develop and guide the execution of outreach activities to promote the Centre's programmes and services.
- Evaluate family and community initiatives and programmes for continuous improvement.
4. Conduct Routine Caregiving:
- Review and follow standards and procedures for routine caregiving.
- Identify opportunities for improving routine caregiving practices.
5. Uplift Professional Practice:
- Commit to continuous professional development, analysing and proposing improvements to professional practice and service quality activities.
- Actively promote the Centre's vision, mission, and values.
Key Qualifications:
- Locally accredited qualification in Early Childhood Education and/or Montessori education qualifications or equivalent.
- Higher Certificate in Infant Care (Category EY1)
- Advanced Certificate in Early Years (Category EY2)
- Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education (Category L1)
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (Category L2)
- Graduates of Early Childhood Education certification courses are welcome to apply.
- Candidate should have scored at least a ‘B4’ in O-levels English or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, high-energy, and high-charisma personality, capable of building strong relationships with families and community members.
